New Mexico

New Mexico is best known for its annual hot air balloon festival and its famous green chile – producing up to 75% of all chile peppers in the United States.

Travelers are drawn here by its standout national parks, including Carlsbad Caverns and White Sand National park, as well as the iconic Route 66 running across the state.

New Mexico is shaped by a blend of Spanish, Native American and Mexican cultures. It has the largest Hispanic population in the U.S. and the third-largest Native American population, with the Navajo and Pueblo among the largest groups.

It borders Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas, with Mexico to the south. Its largest, and perhaps best known city is Albuquerque.
