Welcome to our blog!

We are so happy that you found us. This is a travel blog written by Paula Gaston. She moved to California from Finland ten years ago, and started blogging. After Paula got married and had two beautiful daughters, the blog started shifting to family travels.

Paula has a wide experience in the travel industry. She has a Masters Degree in Hospitality Management and she has worked in various positions in the field. Because of that, she is able to write about their experiences from many different angles.

The Gaston family spends their winters in California and summers in Finland. And their travels take them all over the world. They especially enjoy visiting national parks and spending time in nature. The blog showcases travel destinations and experiences, hotel and restaurant reviews and itineraries. And of course, travel tips for families!

Have you ever seen a beach with green sand? 8 years ago today we visited one of the world’s three green sand beaches in Hawaii (I can’t believe how time flies). And yes, they are quite rare! It was not easy to get to but it was so worth it! ⛱ ~ Pizza Birria - I would have never guessed that our trip to Albuquerque would turn into such a culinary experience. We made some amazing finds while searching for good restaurants. Our favorites were Mariscos Altamar and La Guelaguetza. 😋~ This week we have been roaming around Arizona. On our drive along Route 66 we passed many places we saw already on our last trip here. One of them was the Meteor Crater that was formed 50 000 years ago. Pretty unique place! ☄️ Ready for the new week! More rain is on the radar but some of the almond trees are blossoming which means that the spring is coming. 🌸 ~ Christmas recap! This year we spent Christmas at home and didn’t travel anywhere. It was much fun and I think we will make this our new Christmas tradition.
