This summer brought us an amazing surprise! We feel so grateful and honoured that our blog was chosen as the Travel Blog of the Year in the USA category.
In case you haven’t been following our adventures, we are a family of four who simply adores exploring the world, spending time in nature, experiencing new cultures, and trying delicious foods. While we call California home, we cherish our summers in Finland as we hold dual citizenship.
Our daughters, aged 11 and 6, embarked on their first long-haul flights when they were merely three months old. Now, as seasoned travelers, they traverse the globe with curiosity and enthusiasm. Each year, we embark on multiple road trips, venturing to national and state parks, and hiking escapades.
Through our blog and social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, we share exciting new destinations, hiking trails, honest hotel and restaurant reviews, and handy travel tips.
How did we end up as a Family Travel Blog of the Year
You might wonder how we became the Family Travel Blog of the Year. This year, we put in extra effort to improve our English content, and we are delighted to see that people have discovered us. Our blog initially started in Finland, with posts written solely in Finnish. However, as we settled in California and continued our journeys, we began writing in English, focusing more on travel content.
It has been an incredible journey! As our blog has grown, so have our kids. From their infancy to their playful toddler days, and now as bigger kids, we have shared countless experiences around the world. We have learned and seen so much, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to show our children many new countries and cultures!
There has also been times when we haven’t been able to travel so far. But we have always found great pleasure from exploring our own neighbourhoods, or destinations close by. Not every trip has to be to other states or abroad. Telling people about places worth visiting close to our home is actually what we are all experts on.

We were truly thankful when Lux Life Magazine contacted us about the award. In addition, we have also been nominated as a Travel Influencer of the Year in a Finnish Travel Gala where the voting is currently open. Such an exciting year!
